About The Citizen CY-02
The Citizen CY-02 is a 6″ roll-fed High Capacity Dye Sublimation Photo Printer with the ability to produce a range of print sizes, including 6×4, 5×7 and 6×8.
The printer is slighter and larger at just under 14kg. This is 15% heavier than the CX-02. However, the CY-02 will hold 700 6×4 prints (75% increase), 350 5×7 prints (63% increase) and 350 6×8 prints (87% increase).Naturally, the CY-02 is larger in dimension, however, the only significant increase is the height of the printer.
Citizen CY-02 offers the most competitively priced media solution.Print speeds are not the quickest, however, in real-world use, the difference is negligible. If you are focused on image quality, you can adjust the dpi to a higher 600, or for ultimate speed, you can run the printer at 300 dpi. All it takes is a simple setting change in the driver.
Print finishes are either matte or gloss and do not require different media types.
The ergonomics of the CX-02 are brilliant, a front-loading door allows for easy media changes. The ribbon is loaded onto a tray, while the spindles are attached to the paper, the whole change takes a matter of seconds.
The power switch is located at the back of the printer, with USB and Power connections also on the back.
Conclusion
The Citizen CY-02 is the perfect choice if you are looking for a high-capacity printer, and if the print cost is a major concern, you’re going to struggle to find a cheaper alternative.
You will need to compromise, as the CY-02 is larger and slower than something like the CX-02, however, if size and speed aren’t a concern, it’s nothing to worry about.You will notice that there are similar printers on the market to the Citizen CY-02, so you may be thinking about what makes the CY-02 stand out.
Firstly, there is superior image quality, you will struggle to find a 6″ printer that will produce a better quality image.Secondly, there is the reliability, that Citizen is synonymous with. It doesn’t hurt that Citizen manufacture the CY-02, which isn’t something that all of the competition can boast.
