Overview of the CP3800DW
The Mitsubishi CP3800DW is a roll fed 10x8 / 12x8 printer that also allows you to print 8x6, 8x8, 8x3, 8x4 as well. You can also print 2 x 8x6 prints from one 8x12 print and each print is automatically trimmed.
Print Size & Media Options
Print Size is determined by the media used in the Printer and one of the main advantages of this printer is that you don't need to change the media very often. With 8x10 media you can print 130 images per roll and 12x8 is 110 images per roll. Media kits contain ribbon and paper roll and changing of sizes from 10x8 to 12x8 is accomplished in just a few minutes. You can also print two 8x6 images on 12x8 media.Ribbon & Paper Consumables
Print Speed is determined by the media size used and the quality of images printed, but it is safe to say that the unit is fast! The CP-3800DW can produce a 10x8 prints in just over 30 seconds and a 12x8 in just over 40 seconds. This printer is fast!
Print Quality is excellent and very similiar to the Citizen CW-01, this is no suprise when you learn that the printer is actually made for Mitsubishi by Citizen and the first printers even had a Citizen driver!
Like most dye sublimation photo printers the CP3800 will operate between 120v-240v supply and can also be run from an inverter if being used away from mains power in a car or caravan etc. Contact us for more details.
Simple - None required! Just keep changing the ribbon and paper roll when they are exhausted.

What we like about the CP3800
Superb Quality and very small footprint and weight especially when compared with the Fuji ASK4000 and the Kodak 9810. It looks & feels very well made indeed. It produces superb quality images fast. The ability to produce images of different sizes 8x4, 8x3, 8x8 etc is also quite nice. Having used several now for six months or so we haven't had one failure nor print jam so it looks to be reliable which is no surprise given where it's come from.
What we don't like about the CP3800
Not a lot really! - Integration with the IT5000 is still lacking the finesse that the Windows driver has and installation with a Click Lite or IT5000 is not seemless and needs a walkthrough to get it to work properly. Mitsubishi promise this will be solved in later updates of the Click software however. We have compositions available to get around some of these issues which are available free of charge to our pro customers.
